Religion

*I will again begin by warning you that this will probably (definitely) offend you - especially if you are overly religious or cannot stand someone having their own opinions on sensitive subject matter, continue reading at your own risk*

I shold begin this by stating my religious affiliation (or lack there of), I am an athiest. however, i do feel that religion is a personal matter and am not using this as a forum to bash any one religion, just to point out certain shortcomings in the beliefs of certain religions. your religion shouldn't define you, you should define your religion. with that said, i will continue. also, as a side note, this page is devoted more to the acceptance and understanding of "non-mainstream" beliefs, rather than trying to downplay any religion.

I figure the easiest way to do this would be to just begin by giving a few of my enlightened opinions (you do know I'm god right?) on many religions and maybe allowing you to view things in a different light.

*again, any intelligent viewpoints may be posted here as well, so feel free to share your opinions with me*

first, i feel like i should address one of the most absurd "religions" i have ever seen. this would be satanism (ya know, the people who go to the church of satan and condemn all other religions). ok, i know i said I wasn't going to bash religions, but they are so damn absurd and hypocritical there isn't a whole lot of positive stuff i can say. these people bitch and complain that the catholic church (and ill address that church later) is too commercial and is too concerned with financial gain than their beliefs. Then they proceed to tell you that a membership will be 99 dollars. yeah, I can see an intelligent person suscribing to that hypocrisy. also, they make it clear that they are satanists and not devil worshippers (i'm sure devil-worshippers are happy as hell that they weren't classified with these people). Another thing i find comical is the fact that they deny the existance of higher beings, saying its not rational or plausible; but they believe they are witches and warlocks and have the power to curse people. Now if that's not a tad bit farfetched, i don't know what is. however, i do recommend reading the satanic bible, it is by far one of the more humorous books i have ever read. now so all the happy little satanists out there don't get too mad at me, i'll post a happy graphic (at least I can say they have cool-looking pictures).

now that if addressed the absurdity of satanism, let me go ahead and address my good friends the christians. although the basis of christian belief is more reasonable than satanism, it still has some puzzling issues that should be addressed. first, we are told to "love our neighbor" yet the churches do the exact opposite. Ill start with the most widely recognized christian religion - catholicism. all that really needs to be brought up here is the crusades. for those of you who don't know about the crusades, they were a series of wars where catholics and muslims brutally murdered one another rather than share "the holy land". Now if we are all supposed to love our neighbors, why cant we peacefully coexist with them and share the same holy land? most catholics (well christians in general) are surprisingly intolerant of people who don't share the same beliefs as they do. i have found that christians are quick to condemn you to hell if you are in the least bit different than they are. christianity is also very commercial., which in my opinion just trivializes the entire religion. if i see one more person in a "what would jesus do?" shirt. i swear i'll be sick. I'll tell you damn morons what jesus (or the person you portray jesus to be) would do. he'd take the fucking shirt off and burn the son of a bitch. that is a sickening example of commercialization and is rather offensive. you don't see jewish people wandering around in a "what would abraham do?" shirt do you? hell no, they haven't sunk to that level of commericialization and trivialization of their beliefs. it seems to me that somewhere (probably around the biggest commercial holiday of all - christmas) the christains forgot that they had religious beliefs, not corporate marketing strategies. if you want to condemn other people's beliefs and preach your religios ideals, don't sell them for $9.99.

now, i'll give a really brief opinion on the jewish religion. this is one of the few religions that has not gotten overly commercial. i have yet to see a jewish person sell their beliefs to the highest bidder. and for this i commend them. although historically persecuted, jewish people also tend to be more tolerant of others. the only real flaw (in my eyes) is that alot of times their religious beliefs tend to take over any free thought they have. and they never tend to question their religion or beliefs (questioning yourself leads to better self knowledge). But all in all, i''d say that judiasm is one of the few religions that is still about the beliefs and not the marketability of them.

now for sake of space, and because i don't want my page to take 2 days to load, i'll kinda combine a few religions (hinduism, buddhism, and islam) all into this next section. this is not to say that i view all these religions as one, just that i find alot of similarities in them and feel that i can make more efficient use of my time by simply putting all my opinions on them together. first, I find that all 3 of these religions are sadly misunderstood by most of society. they are frequently looked at as "cultish" and "out of the ordinary" when they are neither. islam (for those of you who don't know, thats the religion of muslims) is the most widespread religion in the world. hinduism and buddhism are very popular in asian culture. and the one thing about buddhism and hinduism that I respect most is the fact that they don't frown on anyone's beliefs. i find those two religions to be two of the most respectable, least commercialized religions around today. the same can be said for islam, the only real difference there goes back to the crusades. although muslims are very tolerant people they too have problems sharing their holy land with other religions. but all in all, i'd say these 3 religions are very misunderstood and deserve a lot more respect than they receive (ever seen a "what would buddha do?" shirt?)..

finally, i have to address mormons. i wanted to classify them with other christian beliefs, but they are far from the same as those religions. i said at the beginning of this page that i respected all religions and was not going to bash any of them. well, mormons are the exception. these are the least tolerant people i have ever had the misfortune of meeting (and i unfortunately have met quite a few of them). these people will condemn you if any profanity ever leaves your mouth, you ever have sex, you don't attend their church every sunday and believe their utterly ridiculous beliefs. Speaking of those beliefs, lemme go ahead and inform you people of them. these people believe that a guy named Josepth Smith (joe from here on out) was walking in the forest wondering what religion he should choose when jesus came down (apparently jesus just loves to kick it in the forests of utah) and told him to form the mormon church. so joe went back to his farm and told people, and they followed his (obviously its not hard to gain a cult following in rural utah). these are obvious hallucinations, not a reason to start a religion. also, another thing i've noticed is the lack of social development in mormons. the teenagers (like 18 year olds) still play preschool games with the enthuiasm of a third grader. all mormons also tend to have bowl cuts and buck teeth. the only explanation i can come up with for these people is that the many generations of inbreeding has caused them to become this way. now as a warning to you all, never go to a mormon church and eat a church cookie (those communion thingys) or they will turn you into cheese. you think i'm kidding now, just go and try it, i promise you, they'll turn you to cheese and eat you. be afraid. if a mormon ever moves in next door to you,, its time for you to move. stay away.
